Exploring the Artist Heart- Browjam Online Course Review

I recently was requested to leave a review of the Browjam’s Brows with Movement Course, and as a devoted fan of Janine and the Browjam brow art, I was delighted to share my experience. As I started to reflect back on my eye opening journey of the course, I noticed my thoughts tracking back to various workshops, and continuing ed I participated in throughout my years in the beauty industry. Within moments, I was reminded of my early years, and the sticky debilitating feelings and narratives that were so often associated with them.

I have always been a non-linear creative. As a young child my heart was always leader of my intuition, my curiosity the driver of my artistic journey. Over the years of my life I have cruelly been labeled impulsive and over eager, scattered and sloppy in my trades. I am saddened by the truth of just how much I contributed to my own verbal abuse of self. These words would stick with me a very long time. They would influence how I showed up in my jobs, how I stood out to my colleagues, and even kept me from asking questions in continuing education courses, for fear I would draw too much attention to my “impulsive”, non-linear wrongness. I was deeply afraid to be exposed as the strange and fraud of an artist I believed myself to be, and it kept me from growing both my heart and my art.

It took me years of hard work, commitment, and the gentle guide of my mentor, to reorient and reprogram these old beliefs. To not only heal my old wounds, but to realize that the journey of self empowerment and artist love isn’t so much about reinventing who you are, but rediscovering who you have always been. I say this because as I explore through these old wounds, mending them and accepting them, I find myself more and more reuniting with the non-linear, wild and abstract creator I entered this world as.

Years into my practice of coming home to myself, not only do I find myself at a place of authentically enjoying growing my knowledge of microblading through courses, but I remain steadfast in honoring my own unique way of art and creation.

I am pleased to have felt the same radiance and commitment to art and self through the Browjam, Brows with Movement Course. A course that is inviting and game changing to how we perceive our art and intentionally apply our methods. Today, I share with you my most honest and unsolicited review.

I am an intuitive artist who has spent years focused towards cultivating my own artist awareness and spirit within the Permanent Makeup Industry. I hold my artist heart sacred and committed, to self love and acceptance within my own journey and artist development. Therefore I am very selective to when and what continuing education I adopt into my heart and into my schedule. It’s a personal standard that all the courses I participate in equally celebrates and honors the art ( not just the technical) aspects of microblading and permanent makeup. The Brows with Movement Course did not disappoint in artist enhancement, but also exceeded my expectations in intention and shared knowledge.

The intention behind the course is unlike anything I have ever experienced before. I was immediately surprised to how many modules there were within the course itself, and how intentional each module supported the next. To encourage the retention of new knowledge, the program used text and videos to help guide the student through each lesson. As a visual learner, this helped support my own connection to the material and my cultivation of the technique.

As a natural “fluffy” brow artist, I related to Janines methodology and artistic approach to her work. As she breaks down her formula, she radiates with love of what she does, and why she does it. Even though I am a seasoned artist, I still learned so much from this course, and had constant A-ha moments. These A-Ha moments have completely transformed my work and my awareness during my creative process. Based on my experience with the program, I believe Janine to be a natural born teacher, and her goal is to truly help others connect with their art like she connects with hers. There are no gold nuggets left out of this course, for that I am certain.

The Brows with Movement Course has set a new standard in microblading education, with what I would consider is the much needed celebration and support to both the science and art of Microblading. It has brilliantly infused the purpose of helping artists expand their brow work through a close look at technique and inspired art through movement .

Deeply moved and inspired by this course,

Vanessa
